· Read the question.

Acting
· Say what aspects of the character you would like to bring out.
· HOW?
· Describe what happens in the scene (2-3 lines max)
· Describe what the character is like (2-3 lines max)
· Mention voice- pitch, pace, power, pause.
· Mention movement- posture, walk and facial expressions.

Directing
· Responsible for the direction of members of the cast in rehearsals to produce a polished end product.

Lighting Designer
· Involves conceiving a lighting style, working with the lighting team to set and focus each light and to agree to lighting cues.
· Describe what happens in the scene (2-3 lines max)
· Include a labelled diagram, referring to where you would light the lights focussed, what colour filter and why.
· Gobos- A patterned metal disk placed in front of the lights to project an image on to the scenery

· Remember: If you are performing this in a good theatre, you can get lights that move!
· You can have lights from different angles.
· Think about the shadows that the lights can create. (if you don’t want shadows, then use several lights focussed in the same place.

Sound Designer
· Works closely with the Director and other Designers to produce music and effects for productions.
· Describe what happens in the scene (2-3 lines max)

Set Designer
· Responsible for creating a scale model of the set. Designs and collects props and helps with the construction of the set.
· Describe what happens in the scene (2-3 lines max)
· How will you get the set on/off for the start/end of a scene.
· What type of staging have you used? Proscenium arch, thrust staging, traverse staging, site specific, in the round?
· Include a labelled diagram, referring to what set you would have, what materials you would use and what colours they would be and why.
· Mention props.

Costume Designer
· Responsible for creating costume drawings and selecting fabrics.
· Include a labelled diagram, referring to the costumes you would like, the style, the materials and what colour and why.
